Vantage on PCP - options?
Discussion
Hello all,
Interested in a V8 Vantage, but not keen on the P11D value if I take one as a company car!
Thinking of giving myself a car allowance and placing one on a PCP style deal, so I can choose to keep the car or replace at 2/3 years.
My thinking is that these cars are likely to have a very healthy residual, and could be as affordable as a contract hire deal on something like a new E Class coupe.
Any opinions on the age/spec of vehicle I should be looking at? Obviously an early 4.3 may well have the lowest purchase price, but a later car may well be more affordable overall, especially seeing as my annual mileage would be less than 5k (I have a lot of other vehicles to use).
I would be putting a balloon payment into any finance, and I'd like to get that as close as possible to expected residual value - not an easy task, but my thinking is that even in the worst possible circumstances, an Aston is always going to be a £15k+ vehicle (Thinking DB7 values). I like to be covered and limit suprises
I'm looking at these and the Bentley CGT.

No opinions but from your profile pic you would definitely fit in here Interested in a V8 Vantage, but not keen on the P11D value if I take one as a company car!

Thanks fella
I've wanted a Vantage since they came out, but always put it off. Then, last year we asked a consultant in to look at some of the things we wanted changed on Google Apps - He looked about 19, and turned out to own a stunning, white V12V. It spurred me on a little
If it is going to be used for company visit I'd have a read of this

Also you might want to think about the fuel, maintenance and insurance cost of doing decent miles on business use

If your happy with that the AM dealers have done some very good deals on PCP so might be worth talking to them?
I'm fortunate enough to be able to tailor my approach to different clients! There's always the option of taking a branded vehicle (Usually the way I go unless there is an existing relationship, or I know they are a petrolhead).
I have suffered at the hands of a buyer who considered the TVR (1996 Chimaera) to be flash and inappropriate. It cost £5k before restoration. It was probably less than half the price of his company Focus, but hey ho! To be honest, I probably wouldn't even use an Aston for the commute very often.

Mine NEVER goes near clients (you never know who will find out)
So if you are hooked on PCP have a chat with an AM dealer they were doing some good deals, obviously you are going to get the "new car hit on deprecation" in one form or another.
If you are looking at used I'm not sure you can PCP a used car? IME it is usually lease purchase with a balloon payment
Astons generally are not great for depreciation, obviously it drops off as they get older and the "Limited Edition" ones tend to fare better (N400 might be your best bet?)
