Put a 3000M (or Vixen) body on a newer TVR chassis, such as a Griff or Chim?

Would this be a quick and expensive performance upgrade?

Just an idle question for today....

I once toyed with the idea of putting an M-series shell onto a V8S chassis but it was obvious from the start that it wouldn't fit without a great deal of cutting & shutting. I would guess that anyone else who had similar ideas reached the same conclusion.

What would be the aim here, are you looking for a later suspension set up?

I would have thought that a new M chassis with uprated suspension would be as good unless the aime is to drop a M body on complete Griff 500 running gear, in which case you'll have some major work to make it fit.

If you go for it, post your progress.

Hi,

It was just an idea that occurred to me. I like the idea of a Rover engine for my 3000 M (at some stage in the distant future...) and know that the 3000 M chassis needs to be modified to do this.

This seemed like another possibility, so I was just curious if it had been done.

I know the Ford 302 V8 is a better fit as the angle of the 'V' is 60 degrees as opposed to the Rover at 90 degrees. I have another car with a Rover V8 so I have some attachement to them.

I have heard of a couple of S series bodies mounted on the Griff/Chimaera chassis, the problem lies when you come to insure them, what car do you tell them it is??

Cheers
