Didn't really read through the ad's to be honest! I had a very similar budget a couple of months ago and there was loads of interesting stuff around, but that was just before Christmas so I guess prices would have been lower.

I bought a Focus in the end for £800 - check them over well at that price though! No doubt there are some good 'uns out there and I'm not surprised there are some niggles at the price we paid (only has 50k on it!), but I've got to do a wheel bearing, all 4 discs and pads and I'm pretty sure the thermostat has gone and possibly the slave cylinder too! I did know about the bearing so that's no biggie, but it's just expense and a couple of lost weekends now!
