Rcently went through the same thing with a similar budget.

Wanted something auto, well made, looked good, nice interior, not too massive...

Ended up with an E91 330I M-Sport with a fair few options ticked.

I thought the Merc E-class was meant to have the largest and most practical shaped boot

Buy a Saab 9-5 Aero for a lot less than your budget.

Work out what you want to fit and if you have any specific item take it with you, after all if you can't fit the stuff you want in then you end up with a roof rack and may as well have gone for something smaller.

Can't tell you what is best but I can tell you that my wife's A4 avant has a smaller boot than you would hope for.
I've got a v70, as a load lugger, it's nice and big and comfy. Don't expect anything like sporty handling from it, but it does do wafting very well.

Another small observation is that the a4 has a fantastic turning circle, the v70 needs about 300 yards to turn... Not a major buying point, but on a day to day basis, round town etc a tight turning circle is handy

When the question is cheap, fast, high spec estate car, it's in the top 5 surely

Legacy Spec.B

'Big' estate that handles like a much smaller car. Rally-derived AWD. Six-speed STI box. Flat-six engine. Left-field. Toys.

Acceptable economy hehe

My car before the merc was a 9-5 and as much as I loved it, i was struggling to get parts for it. Also I want something less than 5 year old

I know its a cliche but I cant do it, I would not be able to take the stick i would get and i would have to sell it. Which I know is totally unjustified as it supposed to be "superb" but I cant stand in the pub and tell someone I have just bought a skoda

I do like this

I will need a roof rack anyway as we go camping with the kids, so the car is so totally over loaded, but week to week I need to be able to get a bike in the back

I cant believe people are still pulling this scam. I emailed someone about a very cheap Q7 earlier

LOL

James

I am the one selling the 2009 AUDI Q7 3.0 TDI Quattro 240 S Line 5dr Tip Auto Diesel on Autotrader.
I want to confirm that it is still for sale. The car is HPI clear and it is in excellent condition ( interior, exterior and mechanical). It has done 33,000 miles so far
I am a non-smoker so it has never been smoked in and it had no accidents.
I live in Lieksa, Finland. I used to work for 3 years in the UK as an engineer. Now that my contract over there expired i moved back to Finland. I wanted to keep the car so i took it with me.
I realized that registering it here is quite expensive and also driving it could be a hassle. So i decided to sell it back there. I tried the local market here but i had no interest in it as it is RHD and due to the high fees needed to register it.
The price i am looking to get for it is 8000 Pounds, shipping fees included.

Due to the fact that my job takes almost all of my time and i don`t spend to much time at home, i asked an international company to take care of the sale and act as a third party for this transaction.
Or you can come here and buy it. Lieska (where i am) is at 340km from Jyväskylä airport.
Please tell me if you wish to proceed and how.

I've also attached some pics. Please see them below. In case you can`t see them please click on show images in your email.

Kind Regards
