Ignition Switch
Discussion
Hi all
I am fitting an engine starter button (which I know is standard in the Ultima loom), but have not yet bought the ignition switch (with key).
I wanted a switch that did not have the spring loaded position normally used to start a car in the absence of a starter button, but am not sure what type would work.
Any advice on this probably stupid question would be much appreciated!

Why do you want an ignition switch? Very old fashioned approach that ;-)
Why not go keyless and use latching relays, a nice push button all wired into a fully integrated electronic immobiliser? It's a much neater solution and if you combine it with some key-less locks and a central locking setup, saves you a few keys to carry / lose / break ;-)

Great idea Mark, but a bit too much rocket electronics for me. I can cope with positive (usually red) and negative wires (black, brown or who knows) but it stops there! Why not go keyless and use latching relays, a nice push button all wired into a fully integrated electronic immobiliser? Ha, ha!! The AB power loom is a great addition... it can give you keyless ign, as well as a secondary fusebox for your ancillaries. Piece of cake to fit and a security upgrade too
