What are the differences (if any)? Are they interchangeable?

I don't know what those codes mean.

Do you mean a later/earlier engine into a earlier/later car, like a facelift W211 into the older pre-06 W211?

I doubt they will fit as they're quite different I believe without lots of messing around. Equally if you're putting a V6 into a E220 chassis you'll be struggling.

I'm probably wrong though.

Thanks for the reply. They are both the V8 5.0 engine. Wondering if the pistons and rods etc are shared between them?
