Vauxhall and VXR8 badges
Discussion
Hoping not to break any forum rules here ... if this is not in keeping then apologies and please remove. I know you cannot advertise, but what about request?
The badges on my 57 VXR8 are all looking tired with bubbles under the chrome effect or black paint faded/missing from the back ground of the VX badges. Also the VXR8 badge had a bubble in it and some of the red paint missing from the 'strike'. Generally showing every bit of there 6 plus years on the car.
I know most owners opt for returning to the HSV way with HSV badge kits, but I'm looking to keep mine the VX way.
So my question is, does anyone have any VX badge kits in better condition, lying around after swapping to HSV or de-badging that they would be willing to part with?
Hope this is allowed.

I'm sure there will be people only too happy to point you in the right direction.
Good luck searching
Probably the closest bin !! Good luck searching

Failing any one having any, I'm sure good old flea bay should come up trumps and fairly cheap.
If not, give VX a call, they might surprise you with a cheap quote................but don't hold your breath

Well as they're for another Blue one I'll see what condition the ones off mine are luck.
They were taken off by a previous owner (when I don't know) but came with the car. The only ones I've still got on it are the V8 sill badges & VXR8 boot badge.
I'll PM you when I've dug them out (maybe Saturday sometime now).

You must have to dig a long way then?

Holy thread resurrection! Bumping this up again as I'm looking to re-badge my VXR8 with the Vauxhall stuff.
Its been de-badged on the front and the VX badge on the boot, the vauxhall lettering is there (but squint) and the VXR8 on the bootlid looks to be original and in the right place.
Does anyone have any idea where to find a bootlid badge and Vauxhall lettering? I can see the griffin bonnet badge available in Aus (which I thought was odd!) but not the other two.
Also is there a guide on dimensions for where the badges should be?

And resurrected after another month plus....
I think I 'might' have the Vauxhall badges still from front and rear from when this one changed to Holden. But why would you want to go Vauxhall when you could go Holden? I was glad to see the back of the Vauxhall badges as all I ever got was "Ooh, is that one of those Vauxhall Calibras?
Mine's is not "Holden correct", as it still has "Monaro" on the boot lid and not on the rear quarters. But I very quickly lost the blocky Vauxhall text on the bootlid (long before going Holden) as well as the V8 badges on the front wings (go for understated.... Says the guy with a Hellcat.....)
Will have a look for the front and rear Griffin badges tomorrow, but I may have chucked them thinking "Who would ever want these?" In any case, they may need some touching up, as I think some of the black paint in the 'lows' flaked a bit.
If you are going to insist on going Vauxhall, you can probably resurrect your Vauxhall lettering. Mine came of with cotton thread in a sawing motion, one letter at a time, They definatly got chucked. If you saw them off with thread, clean up the surface with alcohol or similar to remove any adhesive residue, you can probably stick them back on straight. Blasphemy.....
If I find the Griffins, you can collect them at the Orkney Show! (see previous thread....)
