I'm looking forward to the 'cross' events - there's always briliiant races, and crashes!!
The constant trails for it on BBC TV and radio are getting on my tits though...

The Olympic ‪‎Torchrelay‬ has finally reached Sochi and was delivered to Krasnaya Polyana in the Mountain Cluster by Lastochka, the brand new Sochi high-speed trains.

Apparently Shaun palmer has pulled out as the course is a bit tricky, guess that means I can take his place?

We can bh and moan about London 2012, the costs, the legacy etc etc but this shower has cost the Russians well over 3 times more and the first impressions aren't great, some photos from the hotels and athletes villages are a little embarassing for Putin and his buddies. Looking forward to the actual sport though....

I'll be honest I've yet to see/hear any bhing about the 2012 London Olympics, everyone I have spoken with agrees with me in that it has been great for our country.

I was and still am very proud of the event GREAT BRITAIN put on for the world to enjoy.

It seems to have started already. It's been on the bbc all day! Boring figure skating is on now.

I should have said "them" not "we"!, Dont get me wrong, i loved every second of London 2012 but there was a lot of "how much?!?!?!" and a lot of nay-sayers convinved it would fail when it was announced all through the build up, the ticket ballots etc right up until the day the sport started!... smile

Sochi 2014 are just amateurs in comparison and Russia have the football world cup in 2018!!

Love the winter Olys - we were in Whistler for the last one. Absolutely fantastic experience. Good as the summer games are, the winter games are more compact, and the athletes more accessible: on a few evenings wandering through the village we saw athletes who'd just come out of TV interviews heading for dinner/bar/hotel. Daughters got to try on a medal of every colour over the two weeks - being 9 and 11 probably helped though.

Watched the ladies moguls qually this afternoon online. My God that commentator is she-ite!

I'm surprised how little build up and coverage it's generally had (apart from that godawful trailer on the BBC). Seems massively underpublished so far, compared to the last winter games. Options for online viewing seem rubbish too. Last winter games you could watch all the same feeds as the BBC were using but with minimal commentary and fun crowd stuff in between rounds, directly on the olympics own site (as well as the heavily commentated version of the same feeds on the BBC site). No such luck this year, it just bins you off and tells you to view on the BBC frown

Think most of it is on the Red Button or BBC2.

Watching the opening ceremony now. One of the rings didn't quite work, oops! Nice effect though.
