Popped in to do some stuff with Auto Vivendi in London today (formerly ecurie25, now rebranded) and had a play with their new toys:

A manual Vantage and a Vanquish

Seeing them side by side showed, to me at least, how much I love the Vanquish shape, and how it manages to make the Vantage look old.

This certainly isn't the nicest manual Vantage I've driven, very notchy and awful clutch feel, but still love the car. So pretty, and such an occasion.

Then the Vanquish. Love the noise. Adore the interior and exterior. Does it make the most of the 560 horses? Seemingly not, but as an everyday supercar it was fantastic. Great visibility, easy to drive thanks to the gearbox and a big torquey engine.

Loved it.

Only thing wrong with that Vantage is the number of cylinders.

It's 4 short of the Vanq and probalby would be all over it in virtually every department otherwise (S or no S)

They've got a good relationship with Aston now, so a V12 Vantage S is coming in the summer. Best of both worlds...

I think it's the opposite for me. Shows what a timeless design the Vantage is whereas the Vanquish has far too much going on. Creases and sharp edges all over it compared to the Vantage, and that awful splitter and read spoiler.

Not that I'm biased but I find myself agreeing with George. Vantage is a supermodel who looks perfect with no makeup on. The Vanquish is a page three girl who needs a lot of slap on to catch your eye. DB9 2 is a much purer shape. All just my opinion of course.
