I had a call yesterday with a job offer in Manchester. Relief after 9 yes 9 months on jobseekers!

My Mother has been at my house since Christmas (long story) but we are visiting my Sister in Somerset today and i already decided we should go in the Chim before i got the call.
Ive topped up the coolant and oil and went for a little test drive.
Wish me luck on my initial 2014 cobweb clearing trip. Heres to 2014 being a great year beer

Oh dear hope you get it sorted.
Weathers looking pretty dreadful for a 300 mile drive south in the Chim. At least the heater works and ive fixed the windscreen wipers. Just need a blanket on my side for the icy blast that hits me in the leg!

Its freezing with gale force winds and sleet here at the moment.

It's pissing down and damn cold down here too (Taunton, Somerset).

Not a nice day for a drive, and the forecast for the weekend is crap too!

Congratulations Derek thumbup

Can't offer you a 4x4 like Peter, the weather is pretty dismal down here though so I'll keep the kettle on standby biggrin Got a nice dry garage and tools.

My partner just drove up from that way 'chased by the wind the whole way' to home.
Frankly by the time she got home, she looked like she had been walking through it, not driving biggrin

Good luck Derek, the life of the contractor/consultant can be a frustrating one.

Well done Derek.

I've just driven from Gloucestershire thru Somerset to Devon on the M4/M5.

Not fun at all and the spray kicked up from the lorries was awful. A little standing water in the outside lane.

If I could have, I would have gone in the BMW but it wasn't to be so TVR it was.

Drive safe.

What's the job offer?

I'm looking for someone with good electrical fault finding and practical mechanical skills (emphasis on electrical) to come and join my team. If that's you and the new job doesn't work out give me a call.....

Thanks for the support everyone. We made it safely to Somerset but sad to say we took the Mazda. Even Mother was a little disappointed. But considering the traffic and weather it made sense.
