V8 Vantage - climate control issues

My pre-facelift 2008 roadster seems to be having an issue with controlling its climate! If I set it to auto, then set the temperature anywhere except to maximum, not much happens.
However if I set it to maximum, it tries to burn my face off!

Guessing some kind of sensor or resistor is buggered?

I don't have the exact answer - but a fair assumption would be either the "what is the tempreture now" sensor, or the rheostat (sp) on the dial itself. It's possible that the plug-in software that the dealers / indy's have may be able to capture the exact component.
