GT3 RS viewing tomorrow

If the weathers not too bad tomorrow I'm planning on taking a trip to view a GT3 RS.

I'm well aware of GC motors reputation but it's the car I'm interested in and wether it has any known history.

Can you stretch to that white one with red for sale? The non cage/CS package in the Grey one at GC is going to seriously cause you problems if you ever want move it on...IMO you'll suffer a big hit...the white one with a bit off is a sounder purchase and will keep its value. Having said that the price of 7.2 comfort GT3s are high at moment, so a comfort RS would certainly be better, but neither one thing or the other in most people's view.

That car looks great, if it appears straight and honest after your usual thorough checks, get it bought and start enjoying it. A half cage is a pain in the arse anyway. plus, the advert says it has one. There are some goor roads in yorkshire for you to enjoy in it , if you take 'the long way home'.

The cage can be seen in the nearside side on shot, through the rear quarter light.

Yep - so it can...was being discussed elsewhere as no cage...my bad. Looks good other than that, but have heard the rep on them too.

I can't find the link, but pretty sure someone on Pure GT had been to see it and said it was pretty ropey. Don't forget your paint meter.

Somebody on here knows the previous owner and said it checks out. Either way a full OPC check and maybe have Matt at fearnsport have a look as well if you like it....

WELL im going to stand up for GC MOTORS , they bought a car from me with no problems, very professional and certainly didn't take the pee on price unlike some other Porsche specialists in Yorkshire ! , I eventually went back to them to buy a 997 Turbo 's' , they got me the car brand new and again very very professional again unlike 'some' Porsche specialists in the Yorkshire region , I was quoted a ridiculous figure by a well known dealer whose prices seem to be always through the roof , sky , moon .

just check the car thoroughly , if your not happy its quite simple . walk away.

After 2 threads on here recently about that company allegedly
selling severely accident damaged supercars my money would not be going there.
Firstly to protect myself and secondly as a point of principal.

I'd ask for the rev ranges before going unless you just fancy a ride in any car after all this time looking.

Turns out Im too busy tomorrow so I wont be going now. Few points to address..

The car has a cage - retro fitted but apparently genuine Porsche parts.
I've had a rev range report emailed and its only showing a few ignitions in 1 and 2, nothing beyond this. Whether it belongs to this car or not..
The earlier thread on this car - someone mentions that he's heard something about the car, so I emailed him. Turns out he knows nothing about this car but he doesnt have a great opinion of GC.
As for the white RS, Ive a feeling its sold just recently to a member on here? edit: DK website says "sale agreed".

Other things worth noting - GC gave the car its 4 year service, new clutch and new OEM brakes. Its also had front bumper and bonnet painted, blending in to the wings.

so no OPC service history, unless you have it done again at OPC.

new clutch at 8k miles? not a sign of a pampered car, that's for sure.

Bouncing off limiter in RR1 is ok, anything beyond I wouldn't touch. Paint, new clutch...RR2...this is not a mechanically sympathetically driven or cared for car. Plus spec sheet, or certificate of authenticity will always show it didn't have CS pack, and then it's not got the Nomex seats, but the leather folding buckets....this is a walk away from car. OP - pls don't spend £89k on this.

There will be another along...speak to Russ at JZM and a few others like him and they will find a decent car with good provenance. Don't be in a rush...wait for the right car.

Whilst I agree with your overall sentiment, a "few" ignitions in RR 1 and 2 is hardly uncared for. There will be loads of RS' with RR 1 and 2 activity. Given Porsche have created an industry with RR data, the fact that they will still warrant a car with 1 and 2 activity without any further checks says everything a buyer needs to know.

The paint and clutch would put me off more, especially since OP has been looking for a long long time.

As I said RR1 ok...but come on seriously.... Would you spend your money on that car. No way would you, and neither would I as we've both been very lucky to find and buy lovely 7.2RSs...of course in your case you were a tad greedy and bought two lovely cars , but my point stands I think, would you swap your yellow one for that...same price you paid (approx)...no chance mate. New clutch at 8k tells you everything you need to know.
