This is probably a bit basic to some of you guys but I have some Mission speakers and on the end of each of the cables there is a 2 pin DIN plug (male). I'm thinking about buying a second hand NAD amplifier but this just has a row of RCA sockets.

I've searched very hard for a 2 pin DIN to RCA adapter and found nothing. It seems to me this must be a common problem, am I being a little stupid here and missing something obvious??

What model amp is it? I'm sure the speaker connections will allow bare wires. If not, do you have the cables for the speakers? You could cut the amp end off and put an RCA plug on

It's a 3130 and yes, now you make me look harder at the photos, I could attach bare wires. Though I was hoping not to pull the existing connectors apart, I was hoping for a plug in jobbie.

I think I can cope with that smile

As far as I know, 2 pin DIN speaker plugs / sockets haven't been used on equipment since the 70's.

I think maybe B&O and Phillips persevered through to the 80's maybe.

DIN speaker sockets were renowned for their poor contact 'qualities', not to mention how frequently they would to fall out of the socket.

If your speaker cable is thin enough to go into DIN plugs, you might do well to buy some slightly thicker and replace that too.

I think I bought the Mission speakers around about 1997 so they must have persevered with them for longer than other manufacturers. Each cable is about 5mm thick.
