So Today I sold my XKR, was very sad to see it go but it was time to move on. Had decided that I was going to buy a GT86 in Orange, had the car picked out and was ready to go fo it tomorrow. Once my car had sold I then called the dealer with the GT86 only to find they had sold it half an hour before I called. Now I am in a bit of a dilema....Is the GT86 the right car for the money???
Criteria is must average 30mpg, have plenty of warranty, be under £20k and not a hot hatch or disesal. What better options are there?

Well with no reply overnight, this morning I am off to see a BRZ. Even thoughit is £2000 more than that GT86 I had my sights on....but it is blue tongue out

Good luck!

Very PH response here, (you've guessed it) - MX5.

Lots out there within your budget with sub 5k miles - apparently average 36mpg with the 2.0 engine too. This is just an example of what you can get smile

I feel your pain - sold my XJR last night and have moved into an Abarth 500 Esseesse. Quite a contrast.

I would have thought you could get a 2.0i Sport Tech brand new for under £20K

Well Gents, that is me now home with my new purchase. Ended up with an orange GT after all. The subaru I went to see this morning, for some some reason they just didnt want my 08 plate astra diesel as a p/x at all....apparently because it was bought at auction??? - go figure.
So a quick break for lunch and I then decided that today was the day to buy a car, there was an orange one down near Barrow/Kendal so a road trip ensued. Long story short, I raged straight into a deal for the sales guy and drove it home and even managed 41mpg too.
Very happy with purchase, though now also very tired.

Well done mate! 41mpg is very impressive too. I must add that to my man-maths spreadsheet. Motorways?

Pretty much motorway all the way, with the occasional squirt and cruise set to 75 indicated on speedo.
The drive to work this morning was 32mpg, and that was not taking it easy at all and thouroughly enjoyed it. Still doesnt feel as quick as the 205, but much more comfortable and economical. So Now have a fun commuter and toys.

Do Toyota add in free servicing into any deals?
