Just going to excise duty my car at the local post office as the disk has ran out.
Having for the last 5 years been taxing online, what do i need to take with me to the post office?
i dont have the v11 reminder thing,

will the V5 and Valid Mot suffice?
My insurance certificate is online and i have no printer!

V5 and MOT should suffice. No need to show an insurance cover not any longer.

Rules changed about a month or so ago. No need for cover note.

Can't you put the electronic certificate onto a smartphone - just in case they ask for proof.

I tried to use the email on the phone to show insurance when I was pulled by a yokel postmaster. After a heated conversation no dice. I wish I had know that you didn't need to produce a cert as that could have saved me getting barred from the establishment!

There was a thread a day or so ago where the OP said the post office staff checked nothing!

for future reference, or at least untill tax disks are no longer required, Requires a V5 only, she scanned a barcode on it and that was it.

PO scan the bar code on the reminder, their computer system checks the insurance & Mot on the relevant systems.

Tech in a post office? I thought it was the last place in England that smelt like a victorian street urinal and that was why people went there. Tech at least the last time i went there was having a date stamp. Hideous places, the dregs of society live there. I stand corrected, they now have electriccery and can open in the dark.
