Just trying to decide which AM to buy. I had a DB9 a few years ago, but now am undecided on whether to go with a Virage or DB9. There just don't seem to many Virage's around, are there any thoughts on why?

They only produced them for about a year, dropped when the new DB9 was launched.

Your best bet is buy Grants book (sticky at top) as that will give you the definative differences

AFAIK Virage is DB9.2 with older DB9.1 engine & brakes?

My thoughts are the Virage over pre 2013 DB9, for every conceivable reason, absolutely no contest. As Mr Gould adds, the DB9.2 is double the leap in power ahead of the pre 2013 DB9, also has the latest new gen power plant over the Virage.

Many thanks for the advice and comments, definitely food for thought. Favouring the Virage at the moment, although it is quite difficult to ignore an early auto DBS (just to add more dithering into the mix). I am working in Germany at the moment and you just never see any Astons over here, which is a shame given the fact that you are never more than a mile or two from an autobahn and the opportunity to enjoy the car's performance - my RR only does 137 and the BMWs, Audis & Porsches go past me like I am standing still!!

Grrrr, and here we are trying not to break the law at just 70 mph.

How about a V12 Vantage S ?
With a top speed of 205 mph (330 kph), that might put those BMWs, Audis & Porsches in their place. smile

Would be nice but I need the +2 option so that we can go out as a family…...then again, ebay the little one - sorted!

Just out of interest, is 205mph realistic for a V12 VS..? Not having a dig, just curious really- that is a huge number after all!

Before you get hung up on which model I'd go and try the 2+2
It's more like 2+2 halves wink

I agree with Mikey, try the seats before you buy...But the rear seats can be used. My 11year old twins can both get in the back for 20-30 minute drives. They're 5'2" and I'm 6'. It's a squash and a squeeze for us all, but can be done if necessary.

Should be OK with a 2 + 2 as we aren't the tallest family - all from Middle Earth - and my daughter is only 9. To give you an idea the wife went for a part in the Hobbit but didn't get it because she was too short and her feet were too big and too hairy!! Only brave because I know she wouldn't dream of looking on a website with anything to do with cars!
