You're clearly either:

1) Dating the wrong girl, or

2) Driving the wrong car.

In my experience, Lotus drivers definitely have more fun... ... ... and therefore have to be considered to be driving the right car.

I wonder if anyone else has any thoughts as to whether option 1 or 2 best explains your predicament. Perhaps we could take a straw pole... :-)

My GF loves it, she isn't allowed to drive it mind

She isn't a fan on long journeys, something about noise ? Go figure ?!?!

Mine hates it and keeps going on at me to get either a Boxter or a Z4

She dooesnt like getting in and out of it, the noise, the thin (unheated) seats, lack of Sat Nav, TV, hands free phone or any of the other toys she has in her BMW.

Her car was playing up this week and went into the dealers today. I offered to let her take mine to her meeting but she said she would rather run the risk of braking down in hers than drive mine!

I think girls initially like the look and thought of the car but the reality of using it day to day soon changes that.

I still keep her on the insurance though as its knocks a few quid off.

Well
Guys, and no doubt gals who are trying to get inside info. I am an actor (not a lovey one honest) I was on set all day one day last week with a dreadful female actor, that was until she spotted my Ice Blue charriot. She said "oh if I knew you had a lotus I would have been nicer". bitch! But may go out in the name of science and experiment at the weekend. I will report back.

Make sure you hire/borrow a really shite car like a fester (preferably rusting mark 3 with big wing variant) to pick her up in...

I am a female Elise driver and I love my car! However, i think guys find it intimidating when they find out you drive an Elise - don't know why - maybe its something about the way I drive!
Decided the only way to pull a guy is therefore to swop my Elise for a broken down heap of a car and do the dumb female routine!

My girlfriend loved being seen in mine, but hated actually being in it - too noisy, uncomfortable and basic.

I was chatted up on several occasions in supermarket car parks and filling stations by really quite attractive women (which you would recognise as being quite remarkable if you'd ever seen me).

In other words, women tend to like the image, but hate the reality!

It was as a direct result of girlfriend pressure that I traded the Elise for a Griffith, which is not nearly as much fun to drive. Proper doors, carpets and nice comfy seats make it much more acceptable to those of a femeale persuasion, however!

I'm on my second Elise, a female mate has also just bought one. Don't forget Mrs F either.

my now wife, loves the look.. and doesnt mind going for the occasional drive in it.. but when we were dating I was driving a BMW M Roadster- which she loved! She also loved driving in the Esprit Turbo SE I had at the time as well (but without powersteering she was not up for a drive). When I wanted to move to the pure driving experience of the elise, she noted that it looked fantastic, and was great fun.. in small doses..

As a result, Ihave an elise which I drive mostly.. and she steals the keys to the e46 M3... in which she is happy to drive 800km in a day..

Yes. That's her.

I prefered the middle one (blonde who got pregnant).

When i was hunting around for my Elise,i test drove a standard S1. My other half gracefully slipped into the passenger seat at some speed and landed hard in the car on the seat. One brusied cheek later she said i'd have to get the 111s as the seats were more comfortable!

So no talking around to do there then! Got the faster car to keep her happy!

She likes the car but not when i'm nailing it down a great road with the sports Zaust and induction blareing!

But obvioulsy i'd never do that!
