I'm off for four days tomorrow to a Royal Navy training course, of which a run and a swim are pass/fail. I have a pretty bad head cold, and the beginning of a blocked nose. My tests are on Tuesday. I don't care if I'm a snivelling mess on Wednesday, but is there any way to put it on hold till then? Suffice to say I'm not 100%, and running makes my head a lot worse...

Are you allowed to take Sudafed nasal spray? If so, do. It stops my nose running and getting blocked up for 8-10 hours at a time.

Max out on Ibuprofen, Paracetamol and Psuedoephedrine/Phenylephrine (although these may be on a Performance Enhancing list). I've just come down with a cold and have a target half-marathon on Sunday frown

Little Olbas nasal inhaler thing works for me for avoiding/delaying blocked nose. Good luck!

Dying here too - ears, nose and throat.

Lemsip and vitamin C tends to clear me up pretty quickly!

I swear by taking echinacea and goldenseal root once a day in winter. That an a berocca every morning.

So far, I've not had a cold since September and I'm notorious for catching them in the office. (fingers crossed)
