Hi all my name is Keith and I bought this 500 just before Christmas, would have posted sooner but the weather and built in water feature has meant keeping it covered as it's kept outside & used as my daily driver, lurking has kept me pretty well informed over the last few weeks so thanks goes to all who's information that has helped out.

I know you don't want me waffling on so here's the pics

Welcome to the fold thumbup

Lovely looking car, mine is black-ish too and I must say, black wheels look great. I have standard Estorils. Any more info on it? Mods, plans etc.

Great looking car, I think red looks right in a sportscar interior.

A little more info for those that wanted it

Car started life grey over red 1st owner till 2002 when it went back to factory and was used as a press car, think last owner got it from there & has done the following work

New 17" wheels all round, receipt for wheels says 17" light weight TVR wheels so no info there, they are grey by the way
New Dave Ellis Xbolted engine in 2008 @ 108k has done 114k now
Gaz Gold's fitted
New front & rear screen
respray
Lupo headlight conversion

I intend to keep it running & serviced properly and to smile a lot

Not sure why the factory would want an old Chimaera back as a press car in 2002 but, whatever, you won't regret owning a TVR.

That's nice. I fancied that one when it was for sale in 2012, but he wouldn't budge on the price. Then I saw it again late last year… and he had budged on the price irked. It looks like a good car with a lot of work done on it. Enjoy and keep lurking… this forum is a constant source of ideas, learning and financial frustration… wink

"how's it been in the water driving recently ?"

Don't think I've driven it in the dry rolleyes hopefully it will be better when I get the Khuomo's off the rear and the Toyo's on (Wed), fronts done already, only sideways action was trying to cross the road out of work on Thurs wasn't raining but right foot to eager and a small gap, plenty of wheel spins n wriggles in a straight line though, I think everyone should by their first TVR in winter with 6yr old scensoredt tyres

Haha! When I picked mine up last Feb it was a deluge, first time I had driven solo, with the top on in a strange car I didn't quite trust. There was standing water n the the M3 which even at 40 made me kind of glide sideways. At least I discovered it was waterproof...

Here's to some springtime top down action! beer

If I was to be pedantic I would say the Lancashire part as that's what it it was when I was born

I now live on Walney Island & as for driving in the wet this was the road out of the village yesterday

You're not far away from Mr. Nitrous then Keith. I didn't realise my "welcome aboard" comment was so apt ! Hope things start drying out soon.
