Morning folks, got the car Saturday ( pics after a clean, I promise ! )

I spent maybe 2 hours in it to get it home, then went for a drive later in the day for an hour.

I have previous back injuries from a plonka going in to the back at me at some pace, a pretty serious accident and have learned to deal with it day to day.

The problem is , the seats in the V8V ( 07 spec facelift ) have woken it up something terrible.

Im pretty lanky so have to have the seat quite low to the ground.

Tried the lumbars in all positions but just cannot seem to get it to a point where I am not in agony after getting out of it.

Is there any definite do's and dont's when setting up these seats, or car seats im particular ?

Have never had issues as bad before, generally a rolled up jumper at the base of my spine in the x6 or m3 sort it out, but not in this case !

Thanks for reading.

Cheers

When I picked up my 2007 V8V, I drove it home for four hours and my back hurt a lot; it felt like I'd grown a giant tumour. Then I set it to no lumbar support at all and it's been a lot better since. After a few hours driving it's a bit less comfortable than the seats of a cheapo car, but usually I don't notice it any more.

I could never get comfy in the Sports seats in my V8V no matter what settings I tried, and I often ended up with back ache on long journeys.

Never had a moments problem in the lightweight seats however - they are super comfy and very supportive. Probably not very helpful for you though right now frown

I also have back problems, I find that how you get in and out of the car is important too. I sit in the seat first with my legs outside the car and then bring my legs in one at a time. If I try to get in one leg first, it can hurt my back. Also agree that too much lumbar support can cause problems.

Interestingly I found the seats in my old 06 Vantage a lot comfier than the seats in my current 07.

I've adopted the bum in first for a while and it helps, I doubt I could get in a car leg first - I tried it and couldn't work out how I used to get it under the steering wheel.

I've also found that an increasingly more upright back to the seat helps (I used to be a little laid back) and more bend in the arms (so not reaching for the steering wheel) and my back is much better. I've a long back and find my hair just touches the roof but over the course of the day it shrinks a little and I fit better.
