Serviced last Feb. 7k driven, and gauge in the check system, still says FULL.
Forgive me, for asking this question, but my last 911, was a 993, so was normal to top up, half a litre a month.

My Mk1 used next to none throughout our four years together. Probably because it was a proper engine with water cooling rather than one of those quirky and archaic air cooled ones....

Yep, mine never uses any.

I get the puff of smoke on start up occasionally but that always looks worse than it is anyway, with regard to the amount of oil used by it.

I have never had to top mine up between services. Neither did my mate who I bought it from. In fact it still has an unused 1 Litre bottle of Mobil 1 in the front, that was there when my mate bought it 6 years ago.
I run mine on Millers Motorsport now though.

The engine could be using oil but the oil lost to the engine is being made up by the build up of unburned fuel and water in the oil, these are from combustion by products.

You might want to have some oil analyzed to see what the water content is. These engines are rather cold blooded -- they take time to warm up fully and then they require tootling around town to get the engine (and engine oil) really hot to help boil off the unburned fuel and water.

Yeah had two, a 3.8RS and a 3.6, neither use any but like a good smoke on start up!

Identical to my experience with these cars.

6 years, combination of 3 6GT3/6RSs, circa 35k+ miles usage. Never had to top up.

Same reply really, on my third GT3, over 40k miles and can only recall putting oil in the 996 once.

They all smoke like Jack Duckworth avin a woodbine on start up though hehe

There is a definite pattern here!

My 60K Mk1 GT3 uses no oil - none.

Its changed yearly so is always fresh. Its only driven on the road so I cant say if serious track work may cause it to use some?
