Found this over on the American TVR Club site very nice example
Come on you guys over the pond lift up the sofa cushions and turn out your pockets and raid the Kids college funds before one of our Euro Brothers reduce your stock of cars ;
even if it has a brick as a hand brake always handy for the odd smash and grab
Plus never been to a showroom with cars with mud on the bonnet but still looks good some internal pictures might help as well

Looks a very nice car. But intrigued as to how it is chassis no 4193FM and is a 1979 car bought new in May 1981 when I had 4219FM which was delivered to it's first owner in March 1978. Did the boat get lost?

Hi Oliver
In talking with someone who was there at the time he has confermed that there where no Taimars exported after 1979 to the USA there is every possibility that the car was a show room car and not registered at all and then at a later date sold and registered and was probably shipped over in 78 anyway.
Even today you can still find new classic Mini cars that have never been registered so i guess that is the explanation
