If this is the same car that was originally for sale privately then it's been on for over a year and there's probably been a thread already:

Just wondered if anyone knows it? Very tempted...

try the one at the Jag dealers in Shrewsbury, Nearly new and very well built mechanically, the best one I drove but needs a little body fetaling, i'm sure the factory would not charge much for this?. Would buy it at the new price my self but have since bought another. It was at 60k when I went over, if they would take a little off the new price of 50k think you wouldn't do much better. Good luck you'll love em.

Looks a good buy at 50k but would doubt the 1400 hour build time claim!!!

Looks very nice. What sort of fetaling did you notice was needed? I take it it's so much cheaper than the other because it's an ls3 not a 7. Is the extra not worth it? I had a c6 z06 with the ls7 and it was a beast.

The only thing that makes me hesitate is the apparent difficulty involved in getting your money back out again. Some of the cars on here have been advertised for over a year.

I think it is fair to say don't buy an Ultima if you want your cash to remain liquid, as it might take a while to sell on if that's what you want. The good news is they hold money once they reach a certain point/age perhaps better than nearly any other mainstream car. I have just considered the same, but decided against worrying about the early resale value.

the engineering on the car was very good, didn't like the carpets..they looked like bathroom carpets. I would prefer no carpets anyway so would remove them. the engine was stunning and ran very smooth. The engine was built by a reputable LS man.I don;t feel that the ls 7 would be any better in the real world, I feel that we can all get a bit carried away with power figures. If 550 or so bhp doesn't scare you to death in an Ultima you are a better driver than me!!! LOL The car was built with no expense spared for the mans wife. She din't like it and they bought a new F type instead. Probably in the wrong garage to sell it and was expensive at 65k. Think its a good buy now maybe even get it for 48k!!!! ? Gtr's seem to level at 35k but the market does seem soft at the mo'. Should return again. The car was like brand new still. Regarding the fettling just needs the clams and door shut lines sorting, ask the factory for a quote. They will also deliver for a test drive. Worth a look. Hard to get your money back if you want to sell in a rush but they do hold their prices well long term. You dont need to be a slave to dealer inflated services either to hold the value. Hope this helps, but all just my view.

I suspect there two sorts of Ultima owner. Those that just want the car for a few years and those of us that will probably only sell if we physically can't get into the car any more.

Hopefully a few years away yet!

If you are a bit useful with a spanner or some glass fibre there are so many possibilities to change (I won't say improve as it can be subjective) your car so that it 'grows' with you.

There is little else out there that will out perform an Ultima unless you win the lottery. If you need a more sensible car, save up for it, but keep the Ultima.

Paul thanks for the comments. Like you I will leave my Ultima only when I die. I'm not investing my cash (difficult as it is to have) just to pass on to something else. Why not be buried in the vehicle? Expensive idea...
