At the weekend after I'd finished washing it I noticed a small amount of water contained around the area just behind the nearside light cluster. I lifted up the flappy bit of carpet and there was just a small amount sat there. I wouldn't call it a deluge by any means, but it's a bit concerning nonetheless!

This morning after a night of rain, it's damp in the same place again.

The rest of the boot, and indeed interior of the car, seems dry.

Are there any "common" areas I should check when I get the hosepipe out at the weekend? hehe

I've also been hearing a squeaking sound when cornering / turning sharp left hand corners which may or may not be linked to the fact that I've been adjusting the striker plate for the boot latch to try and eliminate the latch rattling, but I don't know if this has anything to do with the water ingress, i.e. if the boot lid is too tight or too loose.

Thanks smile

I'd check the seating/ condition of the rear light seal as if it has been off at some point it may not have been put back right

It has indeed been off more than once. I'll double-check it.

The only water ingress I had on my Mondeo ST TDCi was when you open the boot, if its wet, most of the water pours into the boot rather than drain away down the sides.

I had a small pool in the spare wheel well, but I learn to open the boot carefully & slowly when its wet & kept a towel in there just in case.

I had loads of water in my boot a couple if years ago. I put silicone around my light clusters and I've not had a problem since.
