We confirmed that we would be leaving from Plymouth (Plymouth to Roscoff ferry) on Tuesday the 14th June. We will be meeting in the Waterfront Bar from 18.00hrs onwards, we will make our way over to the ferry port (2 mins drive) at 21.00hrs therefore no need to take the day off work. We board the ferry for the 23.00hrs overnight crossing. After a brief shandy we retire to the cabins for the overnight cruise.
We dock en Francais at 07.00hrs the following day from which we have a 230 mile run down through some beautiful French roads, (for anyone that hasn't been the roads are superb!!) before we arrive at the Le Mans track around lunchtime!
Everyone vouched for staying at the same part of the track as this year, Maison Blanche also going for the Maison Blanche grandstand (number 23)
Your grandstand ticket will allocate you a seat which is yours for the duration, day and night!
Staying for 5/6 days may seem like a long time but believe me it will fly by!
We'll be BBQing by Wednesday afternoon!
Thursday's practice
Friday qualifying with 'Mad Friday' on the public sectors of the track (a must for any Le Mans virgin!) followed by a short coach journey into Le Mans village for the driver's parade, the ultimate in car-carnivals!
Saturday 4pm it's race time for the following 24hrs then post race on Sunday it's party time again!!
Monday complete with matchsticks in our eyes we make the journey back down to Roscoff for the 16.30hrs crossing back docking back in good old Blighty at 21.30hrs.

If any further D&C TVRCC members are wishing to come along you need to get your act together as Club office are releasing the tickets in two weeks time and we will be confirming definate numbers then anyone else please contact me as Dave Earp (R.O.) has handed the task over to me to organise. We will take care of all organisation just bring yourselves and a supply of beer!

The approximate costs will work out in the region of £650 per car including two passengers.
This will get both of you the ferry with cabin complete with en-suite and bunks on the outward bound crossing, camping, track entry, grandstand and coach for the driver's parade.

Obi-wonkey and Timelord, are you taking any co-pilots? I ask this because the cabins are based on two people sharing, if not it might be wise to share a cabin or it will cost you £160 more each!

We'll have another meet once more has been confirmed but please any questions please email me.

Here's to 2005!

Cheers Corin,

I will be bringing someone. Also, is this open to non tvr Club members? My local landlord wants to come in his recently restored triumph

I can answer that for you.

Le Mans per se is obviously open to everyone, but the package available from the TVRCC is only open to members and is always over-subscribed.

For other ways to do the Le Mans experience, have a quick look on the LM section here.

Owen, I would email Dusty C, tell him I sent you - he's a member of the ACO (the French automobile club that organises the race) pretty sussed out when it comes to Le Mans. He would be the best person to advise on tickets.

Thanks Guys,

If he sorts his own tickets and then books the ferry himself, would anyone have any objections to him travelling down with us on the basis that the more the merrier (...and he does own a pub!!)

He is a prior TVR owner as well ( a couple of Chimaeras and Cerberas from David Hendry before buying his pub)

Absolutely no problem at all Owen, more than welcome - the more the merrier!

As long as his Triumph isn't an 'Acclaim'!

just to clarify, is someone block booking the ferry and then I send you a cheque? OR do we each book our ferry crossing individually, if so if you could post a link I will sort mine out once I have got the tickets.

Knew I should have cancelled my meeting on Wednersday and gone to the pub instead!

We are block booking mate, we'll give you a shout when we are booking and we'll put it all on one card, you will need registrations - we'll book for your mates as well.

Hi Owen, I decided to stay up here in London for the new year and I'm going to go on the Kent run on Sunday so I should be back in Devon Monday - at which stage I will be straight back on the case for Le Mans, the booking form should be through this week in Sprint and iy would be nice to tie this up ASAP!

Happy new year mate!
