Hi

what are everyones thoughts on storing Elise S outside? It has G3 glass coat paint which protects it from weather conditions and the hardtop is always on. But main concern is rusting etc.

I dont have a garage, is there anything to be worried about with this regard? I also have a storm force cover, but its a bit of hassel to keep putting that on and off (making sure car is also clean inbetween to ensure no dust scratches), but even with a cover im not sure about rusting or anything else of concern?

peoples thoughts here would be appreciated.

thanks

Its a fiberglass body and an aluminium chassis, not much to rust!

You will get corrosion underneath on bolts etc, but with enough effort you could get something to protect them (detailers get in here!)

As long as it's waterproof to the cabin you should be fine. smile

My s1 lived outside all the time and that included weeks at a time with no use. Tbh water finding its way inside the cabin was a far bigger issue than anything else!

Your hard top should help with that.

As others have said use protective products on the suspension arms and rear frame the rest will be fine.

Another vote for AFC50. Bikers who use their bikes all over the winter swear by this stuff.Cover the exposed metal bits with it, then wash it off in the spring.
