Just seen on the Twitter

http://t.co/NpbkBLvchu

The company discovered a Chinese sub-supplier was using counterfeit plastic material in a part supplied to the carmaker.

A total of 17,590 cars, including all of its left-hand-drive models built since November 2007 and all right-hand-drive models built since May 2012, are being recalled.

The Vanquish model is not affected.

Aston Martin say safety is their priority.

- the in the manual dodgy steaming up front lights

(snip) allegedly using counterfeit plastic material in part of the accelerator pedal
There are fears the pedal arm may break although there have been no reports of any accidents, the firm said.

You won't its only post may 2012 RHD cars that need new pedals
The 17.5k cars the reports are quoting is an insulation mod on LHD cars which is included in the recall

(I hate reporters glibly publishing inaccurate stuff for impact frown )

Indeed.

Mine has now been changed for the 3rd time.

You'd have hoped (expected, even) that they would have thoroughly checked this out after the first recall.

Pretty poor.

I've got 100% genuine, real Chinese plastic bits in mine... they don't build 'em like they used to.

Quite, and also in the same week as the national newspaper photograph, of a rather cheap looking wing, after the dog attack.

Which national newspaper photograph are you referring to? Did I miss something?
