R53 rear parking sensors on the blink

Not sure if this is a common thing or not but following the bad weather my parking sensors on my 55 plate MCS have stopped working. When I select reverse I get a long beep lasting up to ten seconds and then nothing. Is there a common place to look for any faults on these?

Sounds like one of the sensors is playing up maybe, I've read that if you select reverse then go listen at each of the sensors, if they are working OK you should hear some clicking, if you can't then that sensor is faulty .... might be right I dunno, but worth a go.

Either that or unplug the control box that is probably in the boot area and then reconnect it to see if that does anything.

Had the same on my wife's Cooper recently.

I couldn't hear anything but I am going a bit deaf so I got an indie to run it through their diagnostic computer (£20) and it's the centre left converter that's gone.
Waiting for BMMini parts to get some in as they are half the price of a dealer.
If you look on their website there are loads of separate components.

Crazy that Mini want about £75 for the part (I think) but I had a full installation by Road Radio with painted sensors on my JCW for £149!!!
