New Porsche 997 Cab spied

Spy shots reveal strong family resemblance

More spy shots of new Porsche 997 variants have emerged, this time the cabriolet. Just like the coupe, the top quality shots show the new soft-top sports icon looks -- well -- pretty much the old one -- the 996 Cab 4S picture included here for comparison purposes.

The pics are here: www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?article=7740

Mmmm, I like that. Looks like they've made a few subtle changes which give it a bit more of a robust look.

The sills have smoother lines to them which give a chunckier look in comparison to the 996, they've got rid of that reflector strip between the rear lights which I've never liked and the rear grill looks less feminine (although that may just be a trick of the eye).

Only bit I'm not so sure on is the front bumper. The bottom edge looks a bit of a proportion with the lines running round to the sills and the rear of the car. IMHO of course. Subtle but good work overall though, and I'm still a fan of the revert to oval headlights.

Now to go rob a bank, where did I leave that balaklava?

Never liked the open '911'. The targa was nice. The Boxter is nice as a cabrio! as is the GT3 . . .

I always get the wrong associations . . .like this:

This is better:

Sorry . . .

As is the Marcos type 2-tone bodywork

In truth, it does look very nice with the roof down, but horrid with it up (in my opinion).

still a birds car though, as are all convertibles

the strip on the back was only on the 4S never on the Carrera.

I had a c2 cab a couple of years ago but it always felt like a ladies car and never liked it as much as my 996 coupe
