Wynns engine oil leak additive
Discussion
Yeah, it does work well in my experience - however you should obviously realise that it's a temporary bodge, right?
6 or 7 years ago, I bought a Rover 216 shed (I know, I know - but it had an LPG conversion...) for commuting.
After a couple of weeks, it started leaking oil. Investigation found that one of the camshaft seals (behind the cambelt wheel) was buggered - and the seller must have known this, because all around the seal there were 'centre punch' marks, where they / someone had punched the metal all around the seal in an attempt to put pressure on the seal to stop it leaking
The cost and complexity to change were out of shed territory money - so I poured in a can of Wynns stop leak.
Amazingly it worked well. I then ran the car for the rest of the year and about 20,000 miles, with no further leaks. I then sold it on, and like a good lad sold it with the information that it needed a new seal.
So, it worked for me!
Oh yeah - just remembered - the power steering box on my Jeep Wrangler also started leaking a while back - again a can of Wynns power steering stop leak sorted that out too...I must get round to servicing that with new seals when the weather gets better!
