Booked my Tuscan in for its 12K service with TVR Power and am thinking about getting it decatted while it's there. Is it going to make that much difference to the sound (already got Carbon cans on there) and is it worth it?

I'll take that as a yes then. Is it that much louder / angry?

Well on the two Tuscans I have heard and been taken for a spin in one, both de-catted with carbon cans....they were VERY loud...

check out www.sleepy-fish.com/ph_vids/decat_clip.wmv

and www.sleepy-fish.com/ph_vids/DeCat_and_CCC_cans.wmv

I currently have carbon cans, but have not de-catted for two reasons: The need to probably put the cats back in for track days and MOT's.

But never say never...

cheers

Incredibly loud. Have a short video that I'll upload tonight hopefully. Doesn't quite convey the volume, but you get some feel for the type of sounds delivered.

Plus, there's this video available...

LB

beat me to it. Although one of those vids has been removed at the owner's request.

Another non-cosmetic reason that may decide you .....
I recently learned that the CATs are prone to crumbling and that some of the crumb can find it's way into the engine

Apparently TVR are sealing them in now as a result but there is obviously a benefit in removing them ....

Thanks for replies - I'll check with TVR Power when I drop the car off, pretend to think about it for a while and then go for the decat!
