My New Car - Porsche Cayman 2007
Discussion
Hi Fellow Pistonheads!
Nearly 2 years ago, a very good friend of mine and I decided to go on a mad dash euro trip in the summer to visit relatives on the border between Switzerland, Germany and France.
My friend is a complete car nut, and really enjoyed working his way through as many models as he could possibly experience. He had recently bought the car of his dreams, a black GT3 club sport and was deeply in love with it.
As we were working out way through the various beautiful national parks we pulled over to rest and grab a coffee.
We started to talk in depth about our all consuming passion for driving and how it’s changed over the years. Mine began, like most, as a need for speed but soon morphed into a desire to develop and refine my skill levels. I’ve always loved being behind the wheel.
At that point my friend l handed me the keys to his car. (He NEVER let anyone drive his car) and told me “let’s go for a spin”. That was the first time I got behind the wheel of a Porsche and I’ve wanted to own my own ever since.
So after a long search and a lot of long conversations with my incredible wife and excited parents, I travelled up to Doncaster last week with my father to look at a Guards Red Porsche Cayman and we both decided it was the right car for me.
I couldn’t be happier and can’t wait to take it on an adventure – perhaps in the Black Mountains of Wales.
This link is where I’m at for my first proper drive. Any positive comments are much appreciated! Hope to see you all at the next meet.

Top quality lurking good sir.
Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh (metal)?
Did you go for red just to match the SEAT and MX-5 on road trips?
Red wasn't my first choice but as you know Oli, red cars are faster

I'll remember that in case the North Wales Police come a-calling. I'm sure they'll understand.

So far I've only really driven down the M4 from Swindon in the pouring rain and howling wind a few nights ago. How are you finding it so far?
Might take down to Box Hill Area this weekend
