Well my car has been in for the work thats been outstanding for ages and they call me yesterday, im told that even though the seem has split on the roof its my fault and i have to pay £600...

Bummer. I was going to say have a look for a 2nd hand one on Ebay. Are the roofs on the 111r the same as the 111S?

They are the same i believe... I must admit i was taken back when they told me, they must think i rolled it off, kicked it around the carpark and then used it for a picnic blanket...

The stitching has left the seem so how they can claim that's wear and tear with our weather and also the age of it... NOT HAPPY LOTUS

I have a meeting with lotus to discuss this as i just paid them £600 for a sports exhaust and £100 for a cover!!!!

£600 for a sports exhaust is that a stage 2?

No its stage 1, cost £350 + labour = £580... may tell them to stick it if i get nowhere with Lotus

Stratton fitted a stage one on my new exige and the list price is £395 including VAT+fitting but i changed it for a quicksilver after 250 miles ,£390.

Well had mine done now, it sounds great... BUT - Yes they also managed to knacker the dials so when im sat idle it shows 2000revs and also doin 26mph.. Still not very happy as it seems to be one problem after another!!!

They told me it was the battery being disconected that caused it and it would sort itself out.. it hasnt!!

er...seeing as you have a 11r you cannot have ahd it long enough for the hood to be your fault unelss they have reported a specific issue which couldnt be a defect.

Lotus still owe me a new dashboard, as mine was first S2 and has the bubbly dash issue (has done for 3 years)...and they WILL be doing it for free. They have tried to weasel out of it before buy each time have ahd to agree they will do it...and they will!

Do NOT accept this Mark (unless you really did use it as a picnic blanket of course!)

I had the bubbling dash on my last S2 - it wa chassis 61. They did sort it FOC.

My car is currently with a franchised dealer. I've no update from them since dropping it off quite some time ago.

I've got test drives in the new Boxster and Z4 booked. I've bought 3 new Elises, and if Lotus don't sort their customer service out, I won't be buying another.

Well on Monday i hope Mr Lotus has the right answers because im not in the best of moods with this at the moment, its been back 4 times now, i will pass on other peoples comments so his trip from norwich isnt completly wasted!!!!!

Well i am a happy man, they are going to replace the roof and also sort all the other problems, the guy from Lotus new his stuff and also told me a little secret which you all may already know, the Exige that Top Gear put round the track got smashed up thats why there was an orange one.. the black one got wrapped round a tree by top gear guys...
