This means that COD games will still be annual releases but each game will have a 3 year development cycle.

Apparently the new developer has worked with Activision on previous COD games but will now have its own section of the franchise. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with, personally I think the series is in desperate need of new ideas, I barely touched ghosts.

CoD has gone down hill since the whole Activision/Jason West and Vince Zampella incident.

People that invented the franchise being kicked out, taking majority of development team with them and subsequently founding Respawn Entertainment.

MW3 is probably the last "good" CoD, CoD name is being flogged as a cash cow as a lot of people just buy it for the name. Its a dead series as theres no innovation and its only got a small amount of developmental momentum (All games are basically clones of the last one).

Wait for TitanFall to come out, Respawn's first sole developed game, hopefully be the final nail in the CoD coffin, nevermind making or breaking the XBONE.

To be fair though, IW had become creatively bankrupt and were satisfied on just raking the cash in with awful reiterations of the first Modern Warfare game. At least Treyarch made some effort to mix things up with Black Ops and Black Ops 2 (and WaW which was very good). That said, the series is utterly ancient now though. Whilst the Dead Space team did successfully resurrect survival horror for two stellar titles, I'm not sure COD can be saved now, at least not without substantial investment in a new engine and updated mechanics.

With things like Titanfall on the way as well, we'll be looking back at COD: Ghosts in a few months time and laughing our socks off that we actually bothered with Ghosts!

+1

I often think about reinstalling Call Of Duty 2. I might just do it one of these days.

WaW was good. BLOps 1/2 was terrible IMO.

I liked the "feel" of WaW, seemed a more rounded COD2/improved COD3.

I'm interested in TitanFall, as apparently it was part of a project AV veto'd being made at IW.

Black Ops 2 was terrible in my opinion the best of the serious we're MW2 and MW3, Treyatch are naff.

Im looking forward to Titanfall but in bated breath. People are going on about how good the game is yet they haven't even played it. If Titanfall is as popular as call of duty then it may fall victim to its own success as all the little screeching kids and hackers will flock to it in droves.
