fuel tank noise

I`ve had a look at the bible about tank noise as my Chim makes a rumble sound. The tank gets negative pressure after a run and I suspect the rumbling is the tank resonating. I intend to remove the vent hose but is it just a case of disconnecting it from the tank and pulling it out ? The car is a 400 if that helps, cheers .

Are you sure its a "rumble", not a rattle??

The tanks do "thwump" as the presseure and carbon filter thingie at the front right side of grill/intake "burps". Check the pipe from tank to carbon filter is not crushed/kinked?

In the past some have run their tanks without a cap or used a cap with a hole in the top?

Mostly it's a case of TADTS???

Thanks Trevor, it`s a rumble, I`m now thinking maybe a tyre too. It is not a constant rumble but has a brief pause for a fraction of a second.
