Cushy day's work today as far as surveying was concerned but clocked up at 217 miles what I consider to be a fair old mileage.

Drove from digs in Aberdeen to put a quick "eyes on" a problem job the other side of Inverurie. From there I had to drive back to our office in North Lanarkshire then back home to Stirling. Sun was shining, roads were quiet and it was a nice day to be out and about in my company Fiesta Diesel (so I wasn't going THAT quickly). Roads travelled were mostly dual carriageway and two lane motorways (A96, A90, A9, M9, M80, M73 & M74).

The whole journey I was not overtaken by a single car. Take a guess at the speed I was travelling at the vast majority of the journey and my absolute maximum velocity achieved.

If those who get the answer bang on would be kind enough to pass on their bank details by private email I promise them a bit of a surprise next time they check their account. biglaugh

Ah that explains that fat bloke weaving all over the road in a 20 year old fiesta threatening to throw a can of red bull at someone if the dared overtake

My drive home took 3 times as long

Especially when he discovered just how slowly I was travelling. Most of the time I was travelling at an indicated 80mph (75 on my sat-nav). Two or three times I upped that to an indicated 85mph (80 on the sat-nav). I've noticed over the years that fewer and fewer cars go faster. Today, inspite of being on the road for over three hours, not one car overtook me.
