Swapping an interior

Found a leather interior which is from the same year/model of car i currently own.

It is a full black leather interior, door cards and arm rest etc

Now it's for sale for £150 which is ridiculously cheap considering it cost about £1500-2000 when the car was new about 7-8 years ago.

I've swapped out seats before which is easy enough, just slide then along and connect up the electrics, and the bench and rear seat is a few bolts so easy enough to swap.

Thing i'm worried about is the door cards.

The speaker is in the door as is the electric window button and the door handle.

The car in question is an X-Type ( haha heard all the jokes before)

Can anyone tell me how straight forward it is, or put the fear of hell into me.

Is it just a case of disconnecting and reconnecting clips or is there any soldering to do.

Door cards usually come off with clips/screws and are usually a bit of a bd but take it carefully and slowly, you'll be fine.

Wiring will disconnect. Take care of window regulators and try not to get the stuff that holds the insulation onto the door on yourself or your clothes.

I've found some door cards also have a mastic type stuff around their edge so as above - a lot of pulling, swearing and googling and they will come off. The more modern the car, the more difficult to get the bloody thing off I've found (or worst - back on).

Yep. Just be slow, methodical and it should be pretty self explanatory once you figure out where all the clips and screws are.

I warn you now though, some of those clips will probably break.

Buy one of these it will save you alot of hassle busting the clips.

Before I start any little jobs I haven't done before, I always type it into youtube, as chances are there'll be someone who's done it before you.

There may be others for the seats etc, I didn't look. Youtube has made so many jobs easier for me in the past.

ETA - I've just realised you said you're ok with seats, so forget the other bit.

You'll have the replacement door cards to refer to before you start, so you'll know where the clips are and which direction to pull.

Get stuck in!

All you will need is a set of torx bits, a trim tool to make pulling the door trims off easier and a bag of new clips which are really cheap even from Jag.

Make sure you get an old duvet cover or something and put it over the sill to make sure you don't catch it with the seat runners when you take the front seats out, and as said just take your time, thee isn't much to it.

easy job, sold an ox blood interior for one on ebay, i removed the door cards{very easy} front seats just bolted out, airbag connectors just under the front of the seats,rear seats came out easily too,about 2 hour job in total.

I'm thinking of doing the same; anyone had any experience with removing the seats and issues with the air bag/diagnostic system etc?
