Pictures of wheels and cars needed

I'm about to refurb my 17" cup 2 wheels. Am undecided regarding what colour I should go for. The car is a black 944t with yellow callipers.

Don't think gloss black wheels on a black 944 would suit. It's a bit too aggressive a look for my liking. Unsure if satin black would be the same?

I do like the idea of sticking with the stock colour or going with either antracite or gold/bronze or satin black. Just not sure about gold/bronze wheels with yellow calipers?

Does anyone have pictures to post which could help me decide? Obviously I'm most interested in pics of black or dark coloured cars.

Having just had my Spyder wheels redone in the new satin platinum colour (see my profile pic), I'd say its a very good compromise between silver and black.

Mines against a white car, but I think they'd look great on a black car.

Zyp, nice car! The wheels def work well with your car.

Suppose if I ever want to sell the wheels keeping them stock would make life easier but I don't envisage selling them anytime soon. I'll probably buy another set and run winter tyres on one set and summer tyres on the other.

Anyone else here have black cars with anything other than silver wheels?

Different model, my basalt black 996 has black gloss wheels. Didn't like the look in the photos from the dealer but in the flesh works very well. Agree it is quite agressive so probably helps it has the RS wing to help fit the look!

The thing about 'cup2s' is that they have curves, and obviously look good. Therefore you need a 'bright' colour to show them off, not a dark colour to hide them.

Broadly what I was going to suggest. Id keep to a silver-based colour, but darker than standard. Completely black wheels never look anything other than rubbish in my opinion; on any colour of car.

Some wheels look smart in white too, but this polarises opinion and they can be difficult to sell.

So far a darkish (but not too dark) anthracite or silver seem like the best options.

Had a look at the lepsons site and like the 'Carr’s Anthracite (Medium Anthracite)' and 'Bright Sparkle Silver' seem like the best options.

Gold/bronze look great but doubt it would work with the callipers so that's fast becoming a no go.

Orangecurry, you have a point re needing to be a light colour. More food for thought...

White is not a bad option. Not worried too much about resale value. They'll probably need a refurb again before I would want to sell them.

It looks ok in the showroom under lights, but I would bet it would look awful and cheap on the road.

Not cup 2 wheels but one of the colour schemes I'm thinking of. I quite like this. Not too aggressive but purposeful.



Again, not cups 2 wheels but having seen this, where black wheels were not an option before, maybe with a silver dish/edge, it's not too bad?



Still not found a picture with cup2s on a black 944 with yellow callipers but the picture below shows keeping the wheel silver is possibly the safest option. Definately the most understated of the three options.

Whether it works very much depends on the wheel. Id like 8" & 9" magnesium telephone dials painted white. Paint 16" 6" & 7" Boxster wheels white and it isn't going to work...
