Discussion
I would sell mine for £20,500
1998 4.2 in a beatiful blue ,30,000 miles ,ftvrfh, cream colour leather interior spider alloys
light upgrade ,nitron suspension etc etc maintained by joospeed and horseless carriages . Had 13k spent on it on general serviceing in last 2 years .
It is an unbelievable car and is a cerbera in the colour everyone wants with all the upgrades every tvr owner wants .
You would find it almost impossible to find another with this spec

hi james any chace of any information on my question thanks
You pretty much have answered your own question. The cerb's not a typical production run car with a Mk1, Mk2, etc. As with all TVRs, over its lifetime there are continual tweaks and improvements. 1998 is just seen as a good point for stuff. Some people would say that you don't want the clatter cams that were fitted to old cars. The upright recall should have been done (or get a later one where it's not necessary). Later clutch will save on a big bill if you ever need any work doing on the earlier type.
There's definitely no "from the 1st day in [month], nineteen-ninety-X, you'll have a sorted car"... they're always using up old bits and pieces, etc.
Personally, I'd spend the most you can on the best looked after car you can. A new car that's barely been driven, and has been left lying around for months on end may well have far more lurking bills than an earlier one where everything's been sorted. Don't be afraid of a great ream of paperwork for all the bills on a car.
Personally, I sold my V-reg 4.2 with nitrons, blended headlight conversion (and recent front end respray), 18" spiders, new tyres, sports exhaust, all the alloy interior bits, additional leather interior bits, FTVRSH, etc. for £23k 8 months ago. Personally think I sold it a bit "cheap"...
