OK,

So I am showing my father in law the car, son playing with the locks. He was locking and unlocking the car and also pressed the button on top of the release knob.

The issue is now the release knob wont turn and the key wont unlock the doirs, meaning I cant get in it.

Switching ignition on makes no difference and tring to start it just sets the alarm off, its immobilised.

Any suggestions? I would prefer not to disconnect the battery as I cannot open the doors!

Many thanks

John

When you say the release knob won't turn, is it seazed or just turning and not opening the doors?

If you don't have a fob but do have an alarm then that is odd, I'd be speaking to the person you bought it from
But try putting the key in the ignition and pressing the green knob on to of the door opener, its an anti carjack button

The highest light on the dash is illuminated, presumably immobiliser light.

The alsrm arms and disarms on locking/unlocking, no remote.

Thanks

How are you locking and unlocking? Do you have a key hole in the door button?

Try this;
Ignition key into 2nd position then push the green button on top of ball, then try turning ball, if that fails try using key in doors after pushing green button
Also
The top red one - Alarm
The middle yellow one - Oil Pressure
The bottom red one - Battery/Alternator

Thanks everyone, all sorted.
He had put the key in and depressed the lock at the same time, I just reversed the pricess and it unlocked.

Classic newbie mistake!
I will now post in my other thread, thanks everyone.

That little button is a sod - Not long after I got mine, on a really icy morning, I inadvertently caught it after starting the car and getting out to defrost... car running, door shut and locked, house key on key ring attached to key in the ignition of running car, spare door plipper in house... rolleyes

The next morning, another really icy one, I scraped the screen before starting it and then froze my wet hand onto the gear knob... I think it's called character!
