Specialist advice

Hi,
I am about to enter the world of Porsche ownership. As I am coming from Lotus, I have a bias towards dealing with specialists vs. OM/OPC types and wanted to check how people approach this in Porsche land. I am after a 997.1turbo (manual in black please) and will want to have some sort of warranty. So:
1) specialist or OPC?
2) which specialists are well regarded? I am in Surrey (Woking) and have been to see RSJ which I liked a lot, but are there others I should consider?
3) RSJ provides a 1 year warranty, but in the event that others do not, any advice on good 3rd party ones?
My budget is the top end of 997.1 turbos if that makes a difference. I can't quite stretch to gen 2 because there seems to be a 10k ish gap

What Lotus you coming from ?
As I don't see an ex Lotus owner in a turbo to be honest .
As for warranty, the turbo has a great engine, I would have a slush fund and get a full inspection done.
The things which you might need to change are not covered any way.
Not many dealers offer a 1 year warranty, and as you know a OPC give you two years, so if it's a warranty you are after bare that in mind, as a inspection and 2 years warranty to add after you buy costs quite a bit.
Most people only buy a warranty for the engine, and as I said the turbo engine is very strong.
All these things are not covered under a warranty .
Wipers
Tyres
Brakes pad or disks
Shocks
Clutch or pressure plates
Drive belts guides rails and rollers
Spark plugs
Batteries
PCCB reservoir
Coolant
Any bulbs
Any filter, oil or greases.
Things to check are drop links and rads, both items on cars of this age might need changing.
I have been tempted by a turbo many times but always end up with some thing else.
I would save a bit more for a gen 2 if it were me.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I do need to look into 3rd party warranties as to what they cover, but for me being new it would be worth covering the engine alone given the replacement costs if it goes. I will get in touch with 911Virgin in addition to RSJ.
