flying experience without passport

Long story short, what's the cheapest way to give a young lad who wants to fly but can't easily get a passport?

Needs to be a jet, but literally a take off and landing, or a hop to another field then grab a train back?

If you can sort it from Southend, even better!

Lots of aero clubs offer short duration experience flights. Is he interested in joining the Air Cadets?

Unless you have extremely deep pockets, it can only be a domestic airliner flight.

get a very uncomfortable chair and then lock him under the stairs while you throw awful food at him

For a jet - If he can travel with easyjet internally with no passport then this is a good idea I think.

Get a window seat (did I see an advert that said you can now book your seat with easy?) and ask the crew if they can ask the pilots if they could spare a few mins after landing for him to go into the flight deck and have a chat.

Also, second the suggestion of flying clubs. A 30 min trail flight in a light aircraft isn't bad value at all and at least it's hands on!

If you do this best make it the first flight of the day, if not the last, as often the crew are busy trying to make up delays as the day goes on.

You can fly from Southend to Edinburgh and back with easyjet for approx £50 each if you are flexible on dates.
