Has anybody fitted either of the following protection kits, especially the nose section, themselves?

Lotus's own

Armourfend

InvictaSheild

If so,

Was it easy?
How long did it take?
How effective has it been?
If you muck it up, can it be removed and reapplied?

Cheers

I have armourfend. Dont attempt to fit it yourself - its not easy to make it look good. Only worth fitting on a brand new car or after a respray...otherwise it will look crap as it will show up all the imperfections in the existing paint.

I have the Armourfend kit on the nose & sills of my S1 too. Even though I fitted my own viper stripes I wouldn't attempt the armourfend kit, especially the nose section which is one bit.

Had mine on for about 16 months now & still don't think I have any blemishes at all, so very effective. Had a car in front throw up an old coke can a couple of months back which I couldn't avoid, hit the front clam with a pretty big bang, stopped got out & found no evidence at all. Well worth the £500....

I agree guys,

Very impressed with Armourfend - Full kit, factory fitted from new, but looks like it would be a total nightmare to DIY fit! I had enough problem covering my school books in sticky backed plastic as a kid!

Anyway, 30 odd thousand miles later and not a blemish in sight. Some say it yellows with age, but that's a bit hard to tell on my motor!

There are some very small areas, on the lower corners of the front clam, where the Armourfend doesn't quite reach - covered in stone chips! I guess that's how the whole leading edge of my front clam would look without the Arourfend! Would definitely spec any new car with the stuff.

By the way. I would also agree with fitting to new or resprayed cars only as chips tend to tap air beneath the film and look horrible.

When applied to a new car, you can bearly see it.
