Origin launches new camera detector

New b2 Solo looks more "discreet and streamlined"

Origin Technologies has launched the new Origin b2 Solo speed camera detector to join the existing b2. The new product has the same functionality as its stable-mate, the popular Origin b2, apart from an integral antenna in the cradle which, says Origin, makes it much more "plug and play" and will ensure that drivers find it even easier to install.

Other new features of the Origin b2 Solo are hidden connector ports on the side of the cradle which gives the whole set-up a discreet and streamlined appearance.

The new Origin b2 Solo’s integral antenna can easily be replaced with an external (remote) antenna should the driver wish to use the system in a vehicle with a heated or climate comfort windscreen. Origin says that, "this is a very straightforward and simple procedure that requires no separate power source – unlike some non-Origin systems."

Like the Origin b2, the b2 Solo operates using both GPS and laser detection (with optional radar detection) and warns against all types of speed cameras including:

  • Gatso
  • Truvelo
  • SPECS average speed cameras
  • DS2 speedmaster
  • Mobile/Handheld police laser traps
  • Congestion Charging Cameras (time sensitive)

In addition, alerts are provided for known accident blackspots and schools (time sensitive).

Like the b2, the new Origin b2 Solo costs £429.95 including VAT and delivery.

I have not seen any other detector on the market that requires a seperate power supply on an external antenna , anyway there is a 5v power supply put down the center part of the co-ax cable to power the seperate antenna , still dosent look as "plug and play" as the road angel .

"time sensitive" I wonder if that will ever apply to speed limits, well maybe not as Gatso's cost money to run eh???
