Flight Radar 24 blocked flights
Discussion
Do you guys sit and watch flight radar for something interesting to happen to flights? or is it your looking at a specific flight for what ever reason and then notice something unusual? I've noticed quite a few post queries from observations on flight radar on the forums, and was just wondering if this a hobby for people,

Up to a few months ago you could see the flights from the Gulf into Europe and beyond, fly up the corridor in Iraq, close to Iran. It has now looks like it is blocked and they can't be picked again until northern Turkey.
I think I understand why!
It's usually due to internet or connection issues with the feeder station. There are now a few feeders in Iran, Iraq, Pakistan etc. The forums in FR24 tell you where the stations are but not if they are working or not. If you live in an area with poor coverage FR24 will even sent you a receiver to boost the coverage. I think I understand why!

It's common for US business jets to come up as blocked.
It's not just US biz jets!Yup loads of blocked flights.
Seems FR24 will block them to keep people happy and to try and stop governments/individuals kicking off and trying to clamp down on FR24 broadcasting the data.
In the UK, laws prohibit the broadcast of air band radio, I expect FR 24 are worried other data aircraft transmit will be treated in the same way.
The Citation Bravo that I fly has a ceiling of 45,000ft. And that's not very modern! They started delivering them in 1997! And as has been previously stated, there's plenty of bizjets which can go far higher, such as the Citation X and Gulfstream G550/new G650, which have a max certified ceiling of 51,000ft.
However, it's pretty rare that we ever go up that high, as the performance drops off dramatically, so unless there's very strong headwinds at lower levels, it's usually not worth going up there.

When above FL430 do you guys get lots of direct routes from ATC? I imagine at that altitude you will be clear of almost all the big commercial stuff.
