I've got a 2007 one. It's an extremely good car. Get the 3.0l one.

Car magazine ran a bi-turbo Allroad as a long termer a while ago, they appeared to like it. I'd take one over a Q7 to be honest.

Went to a Volvo garage in Yeovil, salesman could not be bothered and the cars looked pretty rubbish when I got inside. All in all a bad experience. When spending £50k I would expect bit of attention, not an important person but want the info .....

50k for an A6 all road? Can't see the XC70 costing that whether it's as fine a motor or not, but, can you say "depreciation"?

I've an old A6 and if the evolution has been positive I'm sure the Allroad is a great practical barge. Maybe in these days of silly huge wheels the preferable choice as a bit less rim and a bit more rubber to keep the ride good.

I recently sold my XC70 and bought an A6 Quattro BiTDi (not the Allroad version) I love the A6 but it's a bit short on ground clearance for snow, etc. I did look at the A6 Allroad but was warned by the Volvo dealer that the Allroad is known to be difficult to sell 2nd hand compared to the A6. Maybe consider the normal A6 with the height adjustable suspension?
