I'm really pleased with it...longlife did a really nice job. When your round town its nice and burbly but once it comes onto cam at 3.5k it goes really raw! I'll do some real Vida when the sun is out and she is back from respray (she goes in this weekend)

Its a single silencer (like it always has been) but rather than the old box which was apparently a dual single box.

Apparently although it was one 'box' it had a combiner at the begining (talking the two pipes into the silencer) then combining them and into a straight through section to come out of the other end with one pipe.

The new section combines before the box, then goes into a single straight through silencer.

I have to say i was worried before i did it as i LOVED how she used to sound but as my new manifolds were too short, it was easier to have a new stainless centre section made and bin the old one than muck around with the other.

I gave Longlife the brief to not make it much louder on idle...a little is fine BUT i dont want to lose that lovely rumble and have a car which is shouting the whole time as thats not cool. The biggest thing i wanted to add was when you step on the loud pedal i wanted it to really open up and make noise'...i got exactly what i asked for so happy days!

The rear section of my exhaust was donated to me by darren (bigbadwedge) years ago when he had a new system made. It never worked quite right as the clearance was too tight between the rear arch and the drive shaft so i also got longlife to also modify this to suit. i had the parts modified as i didnt want to buy a whole new section as well...seeing as it was £1,100 for the manifolds and and centre...

i'll try and upload some shots of their work but so far i will say im pleased smile

ha - only the one this time!!

OK - So got some pics to show what they did...

They charged £440 with VAT to supply and fit centre section and change the rear part too.

Longlife Box

Manifolds to single pipe:

I asked them to put it as high as poss but the box wouldnt sit any higher so they put at an angle to try and minimise what will hit the ground when you just cant avoid it!!

Over the drive shaft - lots of room now (this is jacked up of course):
