Cayman 2.7 Battery.
Discussion
Well it's finally happened, the battery on my 2.7 Cayman has finally given up the ghost.
I'm not going to moan about it as it's lasted 7 years without ever giving any dramas but it's as flat as they come now and won't take a charge.
Due to the age of the car I'm not going to go down the Porsche battery route and was thinking of getting a Bosch replacement.
Has anyone got any other recommedations for after market batteries before I buy?

As long you get approximately the same Ah and CCA rating, I don't think there's much difference.
Bosche & Varta both seem to give 5 year warranties on batteries for Boxsters / Caymans, Exide only 3.
Mine is a Moura (more expensive than Bosch and 4 yrs!) but was on the car when I bought it.

I bought a Varta from this lot for my Golf Gti It was a painless transaction with free delivery next day and I saved 40% on any other quote. Fitting took me 10 minutes.

It's the Bosch S5008 I'm going for - slightly higher CCA and 77Ah compared to the 70Ah of the original Moll Kamina Porsche battery fitted but it's one of the few available that match the case size of the original battery exactly.
A five year warranty can't be sniffed at either!
Careful! According to my dealer, bigger batteries make the alternator explode and kill baby kittens:A five year warranty can't be sniffed at either!

That's mint from your OPC! What utter crap, 7Ah larger won't do any damage to the alternator at all, it doesn't have to work any harder. The average car battery is topped up (depending on state of original charge) within about 9 miles of driving.
I went for Yuasa (75Ah 650CCA) in the end £70 and 3 year guarantee from the local auto parts store. If it lasts a couple of years I'll be happy I will invest in a Ctek conditioner now though as the car doesn't get used much any more.
