Mines a late one, early 91 with the chassis no ending 19536 .So is mine no 195? out of 242.Bible saying only 44 built in 91.My car could be in the build nos of 90 then registered jan 91, this would be about right.

Now I am really lost?! How do you guess yours is 195?

My chassis number (last 5) is 19379...is there a list of chassis numbers somewhere?

Mine ends 19635 and was registered 1989 so I guess the first part doesn't say anything about the build numbers????

Thats that then, it seems chassis nos are nothing to do with build nos laugh.

Strange...!

This sounds like something Mr tank would be able to shed light on after his chassis number research.

I'm surprised there isn't a list somewhere

Hope this helps:-

Is your wedge pre or post March 1985 as the chassis numbering system TVR were running with changed. If post March 85 this is what the numbers mean.

Example:-

SA9DH28PXFBO19433

S=made in UK
A=less than 500 made per annum
9= not sure
D= body type D for drophead F would be for fixedhead coupe
H= Weight class 3001-4000lbs GVW
28 = engine size. Would be 35 for v8.
P = Fuel type petrol
X = VIN verification check digit
F = Manufacturing year F=1985, G=1986, H= 1987 etc
B = Manufacturing plant B=Blackpool
0 = International code designating TVR 280i and 350i fixed
1 = head and drophead. TVR Engineering Ltd, Bristol Ave
9 = Blackpool Lancs FY2 0JF

433= Sequential build number.

I got this from Graham Robson's book TVRs Volume 2: Tasmin to Chimaera.
