Anybody eat/cook the pith of their citruses?

I saw Gennaro Contaldo (sp, apologies) on one of his show's (two old italians or something) enjoy the pith of a lemon.

Sooooo I tried the pith of a blood orange and I have to say it was a bit like cotton candy.

Is this common to eat?

I've also been putting the zest on pastas.

Used to eat it when I was a kid. I used to live near an Orange grove with low fences so we used to stuff ourselves.

Can't recall the last time I ate an Orange, probably got sick of them.

I enjoy the pith of lemons and oranges if they are big enough to bother with. Have only ever met one other person who does the same
